Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 214:19-a

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
Whenever any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this title or any rule or regulation of the executive director or of RSA 163-B, N.H. Rev. Stat. § 236:26, N.H. Rev. Stat. § 265:102 or N.H. Rev. Stat. § 635:2 shall appeal, his license shall be suspended pending disposition of the appeal. If the person so appealing is convicted, the period of suspension shall be computed from the date of the original conviction.
