Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 309-B:17

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
In any action brought under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 309-B:12, N.H. Rev. Stat. § 309-B:15, or N.H. Rev. Stat. § 309-B:16, evidence of the commission of a single act prohibited by this chapter shall be sufficient to justify the imposition of a penalty, injunction, restraining order, or conviction, respectively, without evidence of a general course of conduct.
