Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 310-A:83

  • justice: when applied to a magistrate, shall mean a justice of a municipal court, or a justice of the peace having jurisdiction over the subject-matter. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:12
  • seal: shall include an impression of the official seal made upon the paper alone, as well as an impression thereof made by means of wax, or a wafer, affixed thereto. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:11
  • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
  • Subpoena duces tecum: A command to a witness to produce documents.
The board shall adopt and have an official seal. The board shall have the power to subpoena witnesses and compel, by subpoena duces tecum, the production of books, papers, and documents in a case involving the revocation of registration. Any member of the board may administer oaths or affirmations to witnesses appearing before the board. Such subpoenas issued by any member of the board or by any justice of the peace shall have the same effect as though issued for appearance before the superior court.
