- road: shall include all bridges thereon. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:26
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
Persons authorized to construct and maintain a railroad as provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 372:2 shall make a return of their location with reference to such monuments to the office of the secretary of state. Such return shall describe the location of the road by courses and distances with reference to such monuments, the width of the land located, the quantity of land of each owner proposed to be taken, and the name of the owner, if known.
