Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 464-A:47

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Court: means the probate court in the county having jurisdiction or where the ward resides. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 464-A:2
  • Probate: Proving a will
Appeals under this chapter to the supreme court shall be made in accordance with RSA 567-A. However, no order of the probate court shall be stayed pending appeal except by order of the probate court judge or the supreme court.
