Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 465:12
- Department of Veterans Affairs: means the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or its successor. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 465:1
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

A guardian shall not apply any portion of the estate of his ward for the support and maintenance of any person other than his ward, except spouse, minor child or children, except upon order of the court after a hearing, notice of which has been given the proper office of the Department of Veterans Affairs in the manner provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 465:9.
