Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 507-E:3

  • Action for medical injury: means any action against a medical care provider, whether based in tort, contract or otherwise, to recover damages on account of medical injury. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 507-E:1
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
Any portion of a settlement agreement in an action for medical injury which has the purpose or effect of prohibiting disclosure of relevant information to the appropriate state medical licensing board is void, contrary to public policy, and shall not be enforced.
