Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 509:3

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
Writs returnable to the supreme or superior court shall be directed to the sheriff of any county or his deputy; provided, however, that writs of attachment shall be directed to the sheriff, the plaintiff, his attorney or any other person.
