  • Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
  • Verdict: The decision of a petit jury or a judge.
If, upon the verdict of a jury, the trustee is adjudged chargeable for a greater sum or for other property than he would have been chargeable for upon his deposition, he shall pay costs; otherwise, he shall recover costs.
