Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 11A:11-3

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
11A:11-3. Any law, rule, regulation, order, reorganization plan, contract, document, judicial or administrative proceeding, appropriation, or otherwise which refers to the Department of Personnel, Commissioner of Personnel, or Merit System Board shall mean the Department of the Treasury, State Treasurer, Civil Service Commission, the Department of Health, or the Department of Human Services, as provided by P.L.2008, c.29.
