  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. An association which closes one or more or all of its offices pursuant to this act shall be saved harmless from all liability to any person and from all actions and claims brought or asserted against the association for its failure to have its office or offices open during its usual business hours. Nor shall any association be liable to any person by reason of its failure to perform, or its delay in performing, any contractual, statutory or other duty assumed by or imposed upon the association when such failure or delay is caused by an emergency as defined in this act.
