Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 17:36-5.18

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Every such fire insurance policy shall, in addition to the terms and conditions required by this act, provide space for listing the amounts or limits of insurance; the rates and the premiums for the coverage provided by the policy and endorsements thereto; the term, the date of inception, the date of expiration and the name of the insured. The policy may also contain such other data as may be conveniently included for duplication on daily reports or office records. Every such fire insurance policy shall contain the facsimile signature of the president and secretary of the insurer and the counter signature and date thereof of a licensed agent of the insurer. In lieu of the signatures on such policy by the president and secretary of an insurer having no such officer or officers, the same may be executed by such other person or persons as have authority so to do.
