Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 17:47-10

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Power of attorney: A written instrument which authorizes one person to act as another's agent or attorney. The power of attorney may be for a definite, specific act, or it may be general in nature. The terms of the written power of attorney may specify when it will expire. If not, the power of attorney usually expires when the person granting it dies. Source: OCC
Any association of underwriters authorized hereunder shall from time to time furnish to the commissioner, under oath of their attorney or attorneys in fact, such information as the commissioner requires respecting the conduct of their affairs, changes in the name under which the business is done, the establishment of branch offices and their location, and any change in the membership of the underwriters and their attorney or attorneys in fact, including any amendment to the power of attorney, agreements or articles of association of underwriters.
