Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 17:9A-279

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
In any proceeding the court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine in a summary manner or otherwise all matters arising therein, and shall enter such judgment or order as may be proper and appropriate.
