Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 1:4-2

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The Secretary of the Senate shall cause to be prepared for printing copies of the Senate Journal in which shall be included the minutes of the joint meetings of the Legislature, as directed by the Senate; and the clerk of the General Assembly shall cause to be prepared like copies of the house minutes. The copies so prepared shall be delivered by the Office of Legislative Services to the person having the contract to print the same.

Immediately after each copy of the Senate Journal and Assembly Minutes has been made and prepared for printing as required by this section, the originals shall be deposited in the office of the Secretary of State, there to remain and by him be kept unaltered and undefaced.
