Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2C:4-7

  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
If a defendant is acquitted by reason of insanity the court shall dispose of the case as provided for in section 2C:4-8 of this chapter.
