Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 42:3-1

  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The principal place of business of an association formed under authority of R.S. 42:3-1 et seq. shall be established and maintained within this State. After the effective date of P.L. 1988, c. 130, no new limited partnership associations shall be formed pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 42:3-1 et seq.
