Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:19-18

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No private detective or investigator or employee of a private detective business who is in possession of any identification card, as provided for in the preceding section, shall loan, allow or permit any other person to use or display such identification card, and in case of the loss of any such identification card, shall forthwith notify the superintendent of such loss and the circumstances surrounding the same. Any person violating the provisions of this section or any person who shall display or use the identification card of another without authority, for the purpose of deceiving any person as to his identity shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
