Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:19-41

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 14. A person who, for at least five years prior to the effective date of this act, has engaged in the business of or performed the functions, activities or services of a bounty hunter, or has held a business out to be that of a bounty hunter, and who fulfills all the requirements of this act, except for the requirements set forth in paragraph (3) of subsection a. of section 4 of this act, may make application to the superintendent to be licensed pursuant to the provisions of this act, provided such application shall be received by the superintendent within 60 days of the effective date of this act.
