Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:22A-17

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Dispositions of subdivision or community lands are subject to this act if:

(a) Such lands offered for disposition are located in this State; or

(b) The developer’s principal office is located in this State; or

(c) Any offer or disposition of subdivision or community lands is made in this State, whether or not the seller or purchaser is then present in this State, if the offer originates within this State or is directed by the seller to a person or place in this State and received by the person or at the place to which it is directed.
