- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. a. The director, in consultation with the committee, may issue a temporary license to any person who has recently become a resident of this State, who has applied for licensing as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist, or both, as the case may be, and who has been licensed by the state of his former residence. The temporary license shall be effective for a period not to exceed one year, and shall not be renewed.
b. The director, in consultation with the committee, shall issue a temporary license to any person who has applied for licensure as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist, or both, as the case may be; who has satisfactorily met the licensing requirements of subsections a. and b. of section 8 of P.L.1983, c. 420 (C. 45:3B-8); and who is participating in a clinical internship required for licensure pursuant to subsection c. of section 8 of P.L.1983, c. 420 (C. 45:3B-8). The temporary license shall be effective only during the clinical internship period not to exceed 18 months, and shall not be renewed.
