Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:3B-23

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person who violates the provisions of this act shall be subject to a penalty of $200.00 for the first offense and $500.00 for each subsequent offense, to be sued for and recovered by and in the name of the director pursuant to the provisions of the “penalty enforcement law” (N.J.S. 2A:58-1 et seq.).

If any person practices without a valid license or holds himself out as being able to practice audiology or speech-language pathology in violation of section 15 of this act, each day during which the violation continues shall constitute an additional and separate and distinct offense for the purposes of this section.
