Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:9-22.16

  • Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
5. a. The State Board of Medical Examiners shall establish procedures for reviewing a physician’s billing disclosure statement, and shall print and distribute the signs which are required to be posted by a physician who treats beneficiaries of the Medicare program established pursuant to section 1801 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. § 1395 et seq.) under section 1 of P.L.1993, c.250 (C. 45:9-22.12).

b. The board shall establish procedures by which a beneficiary of the Medicare program may initiate a complaint regarding any incident of noncompliance with the provisions of P.L.1993, c.250 (C. 45:9-22.12 et seq.) with the board.
