Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:9-37.34g
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
10. A person is guilty of a crime of the third degree if he knowingly does not possess a license to practice physical therapy, or knowingly has had such license suspended, revoked or otherwise limited by an order entered by the State Board of Physical Therapy, and he:
a. engages in the practice of physical therapy;
b. exceeds the scope of practice permitted by the board order;
c. holds himself out to the public, or any person as being eligible to engage in the practice of physical therapy;
d. engages in any activity for which a license to practice physical therapy is a necessary prerequisite; or
e. practices physical therapy under a false or assumed name or falsely impersonates another person licensed by the board.
The provisions of this section shall not be construed to limit the activities permitted in section 9 of P.L.1983, c.296 (C. 45:9-37.19).
