  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 9. The State Board of Medical Examiners shall require that the number of credits of continuing athletic trainer education required of each person licensed as an athletic trainer, as a condition of biennial renewal pursuant to section 14 of P.L.1984, c.203 (C. 45:9-37.48), include at least one credit of educational programs or topics concerning prescription opioid drugs, including the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion. The continuing athletic trainer education requirement in this subsection shall be subject to the provisions of section 6 of P.L.2010, c.94 (C. 45:9-37.48a), including, but not limited to, the authority of the board to waive the provisions of this section for a specific individual if the board deems it is appropriate to do so.
