  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (a) In the case of Canadian and British insurers, the annual audited financial report shall be defined as the annual statement of total business on the form filed by such companies with their supervision authority duly audited by an independent chartered accountant.

(b) For such insurers, the letter required in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-10-205(b) shall state that the accountant is aware of the requirements relating to the annual audited financial report filed with the Commissioner pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-10-195 and shall affirm that the opinion expressed is in conformity with those requirements. (2009-384, s. 1.)
