Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 58-10-335

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (a) This Part shall be known and may be cited as the “North Carolina Captive Insurance Act.”

(b) The purpose of this Part is to establish the procedures for the organization and regulation of the operations of captive insurance companies transacting insurance business within this State and thereby promote the general welfare of the people of this State. (2013-116, s. 1.)
