While farm products are located in a jurisdiction, the local law of that jurisdiction governs perfection, the effect of perfection or nonperfection, and the priority of an agricultural lien on the farm products.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 1309.302

  • Farm products: means goods, other than standing timber, with respect to which the debtor is engaged in a farming operation and that are:

    (a) Crops grown, growing, or to be grown, including:

    (i) Crops produced on trees, vines, and bushes;

    (ii) Aquatic goods produced in aquacultural operations;

    (iii) Algacultural products as defined in section 901. See Ohio Code 1309.102

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
