As used in ORS § 109.124 to 109.230, unless the context requires otherwise:

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 109.124

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

(1) ‘Child attending school’ has the meaning given that term in ORS § 107.108.

(2) ‘Child born out of wedlock’ means a child born to an unmarried person or to a married person by another person who is not the person’s spouse.

(3) ‘Respondent’ may include, but is not limited to, one or more persons who may be the father of a child born out of wedlock, the spouse of a woman who has or may have a child born out of wedlock, the mother of a child born out of wedlock, the person pregnant with a child who may be born out of wedlock, or the duly appointed and acting guardian of the child or conservator of the child’s estate.
