Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 431A.775

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.

(1) ‘Person’ includes an individual, partnership, association, corporation, private institution or governmental entity.

(2) ‘Recombinant DNA research’ means research on molecules that consist of segments of deoxyribonucleic acid from different organisms which are joined together in cell-free systems and which have the capacity to infect and replicate in some host cell, either autonomously or as an integrated part of the host genome.
