Rhode Island General Laws 46-15-2.1. Appeals

     

An applicant may appeal a denial by a public water supply facility made under § 46-15-2(b) which shall be reviewable by the state agency or commission having jurisdiction over the public water supply facility and thereafter by the superior court pursuant to the standards and timeframes set forth in § 42-35-15 (“administrative procedures”).

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 46-15-2.1

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Rhode Island General Laws 46-15.2-1. Short title

     

This chapter shall be known as the “Rhode Island Water Facilities Assistance Program”.
