(a)  The board shall select from among its members a chairperson, a vice chairperson, and any other officers for the terms and with the duties and powers necessary for the performance of their duties that the board determines.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 5-65-15

  • Board: means the contractors' registration and licensing board established pursuant to the provisions of § 5-65-14 or its designees. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-65-1
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • Staff: means any staff necessary to carry out the powers, functions, and duties of the board, or the office, including inspectors, hearing officers, and other supportive staff. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-65-1

(b)  A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

(c)  The board shall have a member of staff who shall attend all meetings and shall direct the conduct of any investigation that may be necessary in the preparation of any hearing.
