Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws > Chapter 16-25.2 - Instruction for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Students
- American sign language: means the visual/gestural language used by deaf people in the United States and Canada, with semantic, syntactic, morphological, and phonological rules which are distinct from English. See Rhode Island General Laws 16-25.2-1
- Recess: A temporary interruption of the legislative business.
- United States: include the several states and the territories of the United States. See Rhode Island General Laws 43-3-8
