Terms Used In South Dakota Codified Laws 36-6A-57
- Board: the State Board of Dentistry. See South Dakota Codified Laws 36-6A-1
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Licensee: a dentist or dental hygienist. See South Dakota Codified Laws 36-6A-1
- Registrant: a dental radiographer or registered dental assistant. See South Dakota Codified Laws 36-6A-1
Any licensee or registrant who fails to comply with the continuing education or continuing competency requirements set forth in this chapter may, at the discretion of the board, be reexamined to determine his or her competency to continue licensure or registration. If, in the opinion of the board, a licensee or registrant does not qualify for further practice, the board may, in compliance with chapter 1-26, suspend the license or registration until the time the licensee or registrant provides acceptable evidence to the board of his or her competency to practice.
