Terms Used In Tennessee Code 1-1-101
- Code: includes the Tennessee Code and all amendments and revisions to the code and all additions and supplements to the code. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
- There is created a Tennessee code commission of five (5) members composed of the chief justice of the supreme court, the attorney general and reporter, a director of the office of legal services for the general assembly, and two (2) other members appointed by the chief justice.
- In the event of a vacancy for any cause in the appointed membership, the vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the chief justice.
