Only the following persons shall have a right of access to the names and other identifying characteristics of individuals who are the subjects of research on the use and effects of legend drugs, controlled substances or controlled substance analogues:

(1) The board;

  • Board: means the board of pharmacy created by §. See Tennessee Code 53-14-103
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of health. See Tennessee Code 53-14-103
  • Director: means the director of the board of pharmacy elected pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 53-14-103
  • Person: means an individual, corporation, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Tennessee Code 53-14-103
  • Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
(2) The director;
(3) The commissioner;
(4) The attorney general and reporter or the attorney general and reporter’s designee;
(5) Any person directly connected with the research who has a legitimate need for the information; and
(6) Any federal agency having responsibility for the research project.
