(a) A license or certificate issued under authority of this chapter shall bear the license or certificate number assigned by the commission.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 62-39-323

  • Appraisal: A determination of property value.
  • Appraisal: means the act or process of developing an opinion of value of identified real estate. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • Appraisal report: means any communication, written or oral, of an opinion of value of identified real estate. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • Commission: means the real estate appraiser commission established pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • Real estate: means an identified parcel or tract of land, including improvements, if any. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • Real estate appraiser: means a person who engages in real estate appraisal activity for a fee or other valuable consideration. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • State certified real estate appraiser: means a person who develops and communicates real estate appraisals and who holds a current, valid certificate issued to the person for either general or residential real estate under this chapter. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
  • State licensed real estate appraiser: means a person who holds a current, valid real estate appraiser license issued pursuant to this chapter. See Tennessee Code 62-39-102
(b) Each state licensed real estate appraiser shall place the real estate appraiser‘s license number adjacent to or immediately below the title “State Licensed Real Estate Appraiser” when used in an appraisal report or in a contract or other instrument used by the license holder in conducting appraisal activities, unless the licensed appraiser is also a state certified appraiser.
(c) Each state certified real estate appraiser shall place the real estate appraiser’s certificate number adjacent to or immediately below the title “State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser” or “State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser” when used in an appraisal report or in a contract or other instrument used by the certificate holder in conducting appraisal activities.
(d) In lieu of spelling out the full title as set forth in this section, a state-certified general real estate appraiser may use the initials “C.G.,” a state-certified residential real estate appraiser may use the initials “C.R.” and a state licensed real estate appraiser may use the initials “L.I.” The initials should be immediately followed by the license or certificate number. The unauthorized use of these initials by an unlicensed person to imply that the person is a licensed or certified appraiser constitutes a Class A misdemeanor.
