Terms Used In Texas Government Code 662.002
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
This subchapter applies to a state employee of the house of representatives or the senate only at the discretion of the presiding officer or the administration committee of each respective house.
