Terms Used In Texas Government Code 665.001

  • Impeachment: (1) The process of calling something into question, as in "impeaching the testimony of a witness." (2) The constitutional process whereby the House of Representatives may "impeach" (accuse of misconduct) high officers of the federal government for trial in the Senate.

In this subchapter, “impeachment proceeding” includes:
(1) presenting an article of impeachment;
(2) investigating a matter relating to a contemplated impeachment; and
(3) acting on an article of impeachment.
