(a) A member of a research and prevention programs committee appointed under this subchapter shall disclose in writing to the chief executive officer if the member has a professional or financial interest, as defined by § 102.106, in an entity that has a direct interest in a matter that comes before the member’s committee.
(b) The member shall recuse himself or herself in the manner described by § 102.1061 from the committee’s deliberations and actions on the matter in Subsection (a) and may not participate in the committee’s decision on the matter.

(c) A member of a research and prevention programs committee appointed under this chapter may not serve on the board of directors or other governing board of an entity receiving a grant from the institute or of a foundation or similar organization affiliated with the entity.
