Terms Used In Texas Health and Safety Code 433.082

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The district court has jurisdiction of:
(1) an action to enforce and to prevent and restrain a violation of this chapter; and
(2) any other case arising under this chapter.
