(a) The board shall select from the board members a presiding officer, an assistant presiding officer, and a secretary, who serve one-year terms that expire as provided by the plan of operation.
(b) The board shall hold meetings at the call of the presiding officer and at times established by the board’s rules.

  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.

(c) A majority of the board members constitutes a quorum.
