Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 254.003
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
A municipality may construct, acquire, lease as lessor or lessee, improve, enlarge, extend, repair, maintain, replace, develop, or operate facilities and improvements necessary or convenient for the proper administration of island property owned by the municipality.
