Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 335.034
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
Except as provided by § 335.035, the presiding officer is designated as provided by the concurrent order. The board shall designate from the members of the board a secretary and other officers the board considers necessary.
