  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.

The presiding officer of the commission, with the commission’s approval, shall appoint a member of the advisory board to serve as presiding officer of the board. The presiding officer serves for two years and may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
