With the patient’s consent, a pharmacist may dispense a dosage form of a drug different from that prescribed, such as a tablet instead of a capsule or a liquid instead of a tablet, if the dosage form dispensed:
(1) contains the identical amount of the active ingredients as the dosage prescribed for the patient;
(2) is not an enteric-coated or timed release product; and
(3) does not alter desired clinical outcomes.
