- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
The city is not obligated to pay bonds, notes, or any other obligation of the district, including bonds or debt payable from assessments or other district revenue, unless the city assumes the district’s obligations by a vote of three-fourths of the governing body of the city.
