Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 8508.0255

  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
  • Signed: includes any symbol executed or adopted by a person with present intention to authenticate a writing. See Texas Government Code 311.005

Authority obligations must:
(1) be in the form prescribed by the board;
(2) be issued in the authority’s name;
(3) be signed by the presiding officer or a vice president;
(4) be attested by the secretary; and
(5) bear the authority seal.
