(a) For the purpose of carrying out its functions and duties, the department may accept, from any source, a donation or contribution in any form, including realty, personalty, money, materials, or services.
(b) The department may enter into an agreement with a donor to publicly acknowledge donations made to the department. The public acknowledgment may not contain comparative or qualitative descriptions of the donor’s products, services, facilities, or companies.

- Donor: The person who makes a gift.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
(c) If a person makes a donation to the department’s roadside assistance and safety service patrol program, the department may post an acknowledgment of the donation on a vehicle or equipment the department uses for the program.
(d) The commission may adopt rules for the acknowledgment of donations under this section.
