Terms Used In Texas Transportation Code 22.082

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A resolution, rule, or order of a joint board dealing with a subject authorized by § 22.014 or 22.081 is effective only on approval of the governing authorities of the constituent agencies. On approval, a resolution, rule, or order of the joint board has the same effect in the territories or jurisdictions involved as an ordinance, resolution, rule, or order of the public agency would have in its own territory or jurisdiction.
